The eye of the beholder only lost its power of decision. A court in the Netherlands has ruled that private sexual displays, including major draws for Americans seeking release in a permissive culture conditions to exploit the visitors repressed, are not art. This is a departure from a 2008 ruling that called the cultural turning private cabins. Of course, the result of the change in direction is not any prohibition. After all, that would be counterproductive. Instead, the government is trying to maximize revenue. Like "culture" are the sex charges were taxed at 6%, but having lost that condition, a rate of 19% will apply.
The case was Belgian, but has implications for the Netherlands. According to the sentence, the lowest tax rate applies only to forms of art in which people participate together. One-on-one performances do not apply ... do not try to rationalize their dances as an alternative to MoMA.
The Finance Ministry has not lost time, with a spokesman saying the sex biz leaders need to start shelling out at the higher rate.
